Guided by their Post-Secondary Success Plans, The Student Success Coach aids students to in identifying school-year programming, summer internships, leadership development organizations and other opportunities to build their profiles, explore their career interests and prepare them for life-long success.
The Problem
"Only about 60% of students at four-year institutions complete a bachelor’s degree within six years of initially enrolling, and degree completion rates at two-year institutions are even, often lacking behaviors and goals that are needed to succeed in college." The Solution
"Using multiple measures of college readiness better informs the likelihood of a student persisting and succeeding in college." Academic Support
Goal setting and motivation do little to prepare students for college success without essential academic skills. 33 % of college students are not prepared for college level English Composition. The Student Success Coach utilizes veteran experience and certification instructing students with disabilities and giftedness across middle and high school to address reading and writing deficiencies. Students successfully apply skills beyond the classroom by placing in writing competitions (Pulitzer Center, Baton Fondation) and having their writing published (VoxATL)
